Great Baddow village sign.
I was commissioned by the parish council to design and construct the new village sign for Great Baddow in Essex
For anyone unfamiliar with the history of Great Baddow, the tower I’ve pictured is the 360ft testing station that looms over the local area. It was originally part of the “chain home system”, one of the first practical radar systems used during the second world war. It was moved to Great Baddow in the 50’s and was used to test developments in radar, GPS and communications amongst other things. I have quite a personal connection with the tower as my grandad worked for Marconi and helped to develop radar along with many of the other technological innovations first conceived in Great Baddow.
It was a great honor to undertake such a commission, And a real pleasure to construct and instal.
